The Cross of Jesus Christ is quite a paradox for me at this moment. Consider it with me for a moment. Think of it! The very place where God in one moment of time has the opportunity to express his deepest zeal for holiness by judging sin through the life of his son and his blood. Is it Abba Father who acts as the High Priest or Jesus, who transfers all sin upon the ’scapegoat’ of heaven, then crushes him in one swift gory moment. At the cross, Father broke out against sin. It was Father’s moment to render his verdict and sentence on sin once and for all, and express his opinion on sin! Got it yet!
Yet at that very same moment he used his strike against sin as the very door that opened a way for us to come in and not be counted out.
What a paradox!
