Prayer Focus – Pakistani Taliban

Our next prayer focus are the Taliban in Pakistan. I’ve included the link to an article regarding some of the threats they are promising to deliver on with the USA.

I have no doubts that in many nations Americans have misrepresented godly virtue and grace. We need to repent of this, however, let us be clear, true peace in the Middle East and in Central Asia (all the -stans) comes only in Jesus Christ, Messiah, on the throne in Jerusalem – he is the true peacemaker, called the Son of God.Excerpt: [from MSNBC world news]

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan – The commander of the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility Tuesday for a deadly assault on a Pakistani police academy and said the group was planning a terrorist attack on the White House that would “amaze” the world.

“Soon we will launch an attack in Washington that will amaze everyone in the world,” Mehsud told The Associated Press by phone. He provided no details.

Prayer Points:

• that revelation and truth would be revealed to the Taliban
• that their financial provision for weapons and training would ‘dry up’
• that the church in Pakistan and Taliban regions would be given boldness in prayer and prophetic proclamation

Prayer:

Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, ³⁰by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” Acts 4: 29-30

Lord, I pray that you would grant to the church in Pakistan and in Taliban territory, boldness to stand in prayer and proclaim the truth of your soon coming king Jesus. Lord, boldness in prayer, boldness in witness, boldness in the marketplace, boldness in every sphere of daily life…grant to them the ability to speak your word with signs and wonders following. Lord, grand boldness and back it up with your power. Grant power Lord, let men know you the only true God of glory.

Lord, have mercy on the innocent caught in the crossfire of militant factions fighting for power and control. Lord, cover over those who need protection, Lord protect the innocent and raise up for yourself a deliverer. Protect and provide for the sick, innocent and helpless – provide for them miraculously.

Lord for those who use their wealth to buy weapons, ‘dry up’ their supply of cash. Lord, block it, freeze it, remove it. Grant a transfer of wealth from the rich who use their wealth to buy fear and power and give it to the needy and poor and prayer movement in the region.

Help Lord!
