I am looking at the law of God and the brokenness of humanity. There is only one hope and that is the redemption of Jesus through his cross.
I have broken too many laws.
I am too wounded.
Too broken…
Too ignorant…
Too dull…
Too empty…
Too unskilled…
Too late…
If I see my life in the lens of the law without the perfect law of liberty. If I see myself, as Paul did in Romans 7, in the light of my brokenness and frailty, and no cross of Christ, then I am the worst and most pitiable of all men.
The cross levels the playing field. All must come by the cross. The rich and poor, confident and unconfident, powerful and weak, the great and small – all must come his way.
Oh the relief that must have been in Paul’s heart when he said, ‘…thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord…’
It’s his cross that breaks the power of condemnation…accusation…unbelief…all the planned attacks of the enemy that leave one running in the opposite direction from the open door to the Lord.
It’s time to turn and behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. The way has been opened, will we believe it and take the open door?
