‘As goes the priesthood, so goes a nation…’

I have been considering and pondering about the priesthood in Israel as it was instituted by the Lord. It seems that as the priesthood did their job, the nation would walk in right relationship with the Lord. But, if the priesthood walked contrary to the laws of God, then the nation would stray.
