The Ultimate Cry for Justice – The Second Coming of Jesus

As I have been considering Luke 18 and the widow’s cry for justice, I realize that the ultimate cry for justice is found in the Second Coming of Jesus.

Last week we were praying with some friends over the adoption of a son, Jeremiah… We prayed with great grace from the Lord and He granted our request. Jeremiah was given this last Friday, April 25th, 2008 to Dean and Chrystal, our friends.

Friends, justice has touched down! When God moved, it took one week! After years of trying and filing papers and defending ‘why’ this request was granted over Jeremiah’s life.

Today, there is no doubt in my mind God is the Just Judge of Heaven who rules over the affairs of men.

the cry for justice – Lk. 18: 1-8

My son, Jordan, recently told me of a story he heard of where the Lord and Satan were having a conversation similar to the one they had over Job. The punch line was this…the Lord speaking to the devil, ‘Remember whatever you take from him [the person who had this dream of this conversation] you will have to pay back seven (7) times.’

‘Oh that’s no problem,’ said Satan, ‘Christians don’t ask for justice, anyway!’

‘Blessed are the peacemakers…’ – Mt. 5:9

Have you ever considered the promise made through Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount in the fifth chapter, ninth verse of Matthew? ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.’

As we continue to consider Gideon, I marvel at the ways and journey God takes men and women on to defeat their enemies and bring blessing in their lives.

There are moments in time where God in his mercy and love grants opportunities to turn the course of one’s life in a completely different direction. They are moments where, if attentive and responsive, we can see an entire generational shift in the way life will be walked out with God.
