John Hyde – 1865-1912

30 01 2008

I am provoked by this guy. You need to read his biography. I have thought many times the very quote that CBN put up on its website…

“Have felt led to pray for others this winter as never before. I never before knew what it was to work all day and then pray all night before God for another… In college or at parties at home, I used to keep such hours for myself, or pleasure, and can I not do as much for God and souls?”

How many times have I given myself to simple sleep or other activities that are not honoring to the Lord in the middle of the night. When I was in Korea last year, I spoke to a night watch of over 700 people on a Friday night who had been working all day. They were listening to me at 1:30am and I was provoked by their lives. They were going to pray when I was finished until 5am!

I am provoked by this man’s life. Asking for souls every year at the national convention and each years seeing the Lord give him what he asked for and continued to pray for. Then each year he’d double his number.

Did I say I was provoked!!!!
