40-Day Fast – Day 3 [1969]

1969 was a big year. Woodstock, Altamont Speedway Concert with the Rolling Stones and Apollo 11 landing on the moon were among the big events of this year.

The Emmaus Road – Genesis [#2] – Gen. 32:24-32

I was really touched when this part of Genesis stood out to me. Here we have Jacob who wrestles with ‘a Man’ it says in verse 24. In the crossreference of Hosea 12: 2-3 it tells us that Jacob wrestled with God and prevailed!

The ‘Emmaus Road’ – Genesis [#1]

I can see already that I won’t be able to do just one verse per book of the bible. It’s too hard. So I won’t try.

Gen. 2:7 Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
I see the hand of the Lord in this verse of course. Look at this. In the first 5 days of creation God spoke his creation into being. However, in this verse he gets his hands dirty and forms the life of Adam. In verse 8, God plants a garden as a context for their relationship.
What does this have to do with revealing Jesus? Simple, …we see here that God demostrates his love toward us by forming our lives and giving us an opportunity to love him back. He wants to spend time with us. Each living soul is here for this purpose, to love God where he plants us! That’s our greatest calling, loving him where he plants us!

40-Day Fast – Day 2 [1968]

As a part of this fast I am reviewing the 40 years and looking through the newsworthy issues that touched my life all in desire to cleanse my life of that which I am responsible for or that touches my heart. So today, day 2 of the fast, I am reviewing 1968. A year that I will call, ‘the year of blood.’

‘40 Days for 40 Years’ – 40 Day Fast May 28th – July 7th

So I’m back from holidays in Colorado and it was wonderful. My wife and I had a great time and are ready to go for the next round of Intro at IHOP-KC!

I’ve been in a zone with this fast that has been called for May 28th. There is such a personal convergence over this thing that I just need to talk about it.

Introducing the ‘Emmaus Road’

I am starting a new category and project. I will work on it from time to time so this is more like a once every two week kind of thing or maybe just once a month. I don’t know yet the frequency but I do know the topic.

Life of David – Zeal for God’s House – 1Chron.22:19

I have been thinking about and meditating on this verse in 1Chron.22 and it is amazing. In fact I am putting it on my top ten life verse list. This is really identifying what I have in my heart right now.
